Sporturf - superb all-round tennis court surface

Artificial grass tennis court built by AMSS using SporturfSporturf plays more like macadam than grass, although it is softer than Pladek and better on the joints for young and old. Its consistent and even, medium pace allows for perfect stroke play. It has been developed and refined over several years to provide clients with an alternative surface to the traditional sand-filled sports carpets such as Tenniturf and has been installed at many top tennis clubs. If you’re going to use the court intensively or you want to minimise ongoing maintenance costs, Sporturf offers several advantages. The dimensional stability of Sporturf is well proven, due to the needle-punch construction and scrim reinforcement.
Sporturf is a truly multi-purpose surface that is especially suited to tennis, netball, and cricket and good for basketball, hockey and five-a-side football. It benefits from a lower level of after-care and maintenance because of its low surface-to-sand ratio. Play takes place on the fibre of the product and not on the sand. It’s ideal for tennis court and multi-purpose area upgrades. The surface can be installed over existing porous surfaces that would normally need to be resurfaced prior to the installation of a new sports carpet.

Sporturf could be considered to be a synthetic macadam. Its even, medium pace makes it ideal for coaching, family tennis and competitions. It plays like the very best macadam and grips while damp. Play lines laid into the carpet remain prominent throughout the life of the surface. Sporturf is available in green and terracotta finishes.

Tennis court built in Sporturf by AMSSMaintenance
After an initial settling period, Sporturf requires a lower level of maintenance compared to the traditional sand-filled sports carpet. The surface should be kept free of leaves and other debris, and should be swept on an occasional basis, to maintain the sand within the surface at consistent levels. Moss-killing operations should be undertaken four times a year to maintain the optimum playing characteristics of a Sporturf surface. We provide an ongoing maintenance and after care service for Sporturf.
