Texplay II - a superb all-round tennis surface

Texplay II - a superb all-round tennis surface from AMSS | Part of the En-Tout-Cas GroupTexplay II is a resilient multi-purpose carpet surface. As a tennis court, it plays more like a clay court than grass and promotes longer rallies. Its consistent pace allows for perfect stroke play. It has been refined over several years to provide an alternative to the traditional sand-filled sports carpets such as Tenniturf.

If you’re going to use the court intensively, or you want to minimise ongoing maintenance costs, Texplay II offers several advantages. The dimensional stability of Texplay II is well proven, due to the needle punch construction and scrim reinforcement incorporated into the product at the time of manufacture.

It’s a truly multi-purpose surface that is well suited to tennis, basketball, netball, five a side football, hockey and cricket. Texplay II benefits from a lower level of maintenance because of its low surface to sand ratio. Play takes place on the product's fibre and not on the sand. It’s ideal for tennis court and multi-purpose area upgrades. The surface can be installed over existing porous surfaces that normally need to be resurfaced prior to the installation of a new sports carpet.

Texplay II can be considered as a synthetic macadam. Its even, medium pace makes it ideal for coaching, family tennis and competitions. It plays like the very best macadam and grips while damp. Play lines remain prominent throughout the life of the Texplay II surface. Texplay II is available in green and terracotta finishes and we are able to offer two-tone court or games area installations. Please feel free to contact us to discuss these possibilities.

Maintaining a Texplay II court by AMSS | Part of the En-Tout-Cas GroupMaintaining a Texplay II court

After an initial setting period, Texplay II requires a lower level of maintenance compared to the traditional sand filled sports carpet. The surface should be kept free of debris, and should be swept on a regular basis, to maintain the sand within the surface at consistent levels. Weed and moss killing operations should be undertaken on a regular basis in order to maintain the optimum playing characteristics of a Texplay surface.
